Coronado Springs

I’m a big fan of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. The Southwestern theme is fun, the food is excellent, and the grounds are beautiful. Lots of travelers have been concerned about the ongoing construction there, but because of this, room prices are much lower than at comparable Disney resorts, and we got adorable, collectible pins of the Three Caballeros as a thank you for pardoning the dust.

The Gran Destino Tower that looms over the property is set to open in July of 2019 and is supposed to be pretty luxurious. A floating bar and grill is also on the way and should be a fun addition.

There’s plenty to enjoy right now at Coronado Springs resort, however, like the Dig Site (possibly the coolest pool in Florida). At the center is a 50-foot replica of a Mayan pyramid. Water streams down the steps, into the Lost City of Cibola pool, which also has a spitting Jaguar Slide! You’ll find a 22-person hot tub here, too! (While the adults chill in the Jacuzzi, kids can also play in the nearby archaeologically themed playground.

The newly refurbished rooms are modern while still keeping with the Southwestern aesthetic. They’ve got tons of storage (There’s even space under the beds.), two sinks in the bathroom, and Disney’s signature H2O bath products.

No matter what your budget is, you’ll find awesome dining options. Maya Grill is a moderately-priced sit-down restaurant; Cafe Rix is a quick service spot; El Mercado de Coronado is a quick-service option with tons of seating and a wide variety of food; Siestas Cantina is a poolside cafe; Laguna Bar a lakeside bar; and finally, there’s Rix Sports Bar and Grill.

La Vida Health Club is also located on the property, which has a fitness center, a spa, and a salon. And as with the other Disney resorts, kids can enjoy an arcade, movies under the stars, and campfire activities daily as well.

Don’t leave without stopping into Pachito’s Gifts & Sundries! You’ll find your basic Disney souvenirs as well as native crafts in this super cute shop.
