How to Tackle Toy Story Land at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios

Toy Story Land may have opened a year ago, but it’s still a really busy area of Hollywood Studios. It takes some strategy to experience it all without a hitch. Follow my advice and you’ll be good to go!

First thing’s first: make sure to download the My Disney Experience app and try to snag FastPasses to Slinky Dog Dash at the very least. If you can, grab one for Toy Story Mania as well. (If you’re staying at a Disney Resort, you can get your FastPasses up to 60 days in advance.) If you didn’t have any luck, you can refresh the app multiple times the day of to see if any become available. Keep in mind that Alien Swirling Saucers has the lowest wait times and a lot of the waiting is in the shade, so don’t waste a FastPass there.

If you are staying on Disney property, take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours. Right now, Hollywood Studios opens one hour early or stays open one hour after closing on various days of the week, so check the schedule while you’re at your resort to find our when that happens during your stay. After Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge opens in August, Hollywood Studios will temporarily open to resort guests EVERY morning at 6:00 a.m. (for resort guests only) to accommodate everyone.

If you’re going on a day that does not have Magic Hours, you’ll need to arrive 45 minutes before the park opens so you can park your vehicle, get through the baggage check, and be one of the first people inside. Head straight to Toy Story Land and get in line for whichever ride you didn’t get a FastPass to.

Use the app to place a mobile order at Woody’s Lunchbox. There’s no sense in melting in the sun!

They have a variety of family-friendly options ranging from a three-pack of Babybel cheese to a BBQ brisket melt. You have to try the “totchos” (think tater-tot nachos), and while you’re at it, get a Grown-Up’s Lemonade. (You’ll need it!) It’s usually easy to find a table, too.

A few bonus tips:
- Wear sunscreen! The biggest complaint about Toy Story Land is the lack of shade. Florida sun is brutal!
- Toy Story Land has the best bathrooms in all of Hollywood Studios!
- Look out for the green Army guys that entertain the crowds.
