Villains After Hours

Villains After Hours at Magic Kingdom was spectacular this year! It was a stand-alone event (separate ticket required) that ran from 10:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. on special nights over the summer. It was chock full of unique entertainment, foods, merchandise, and characters you just don’t see every day at Disney. It sort had a more grown-up Halloween feel to it, which was perfect for those of us who are forever #TeamVillains!

I started off my evening by trying the Headless Horseman Browkie (a hybrid brownie and cookie treat) while shopping the fabulous selection of Villains merch.

For true Disney fans, these dated items really are priceless collectables and a fun way to commemorate the special event, since they’re not available for sale anywhere else.

I loved seeing the highly-anticipated Maleficent float parading around, breathing fire in the night, and the fireworks show itself was incredible, too.

Specialty mocktails and themed dishes were a great touch. I tried Yzma’s Llama Potion (a “dry ice-infused vessel filled with strawberry Fanta” for 6.99) and Evil Emperor Zurg’s Noodles (chilled noodle salad with snap peas, red onion, and red peppers with sesame soy sauce for 5.99).

My absolute favorite part of the night was riding Space Mountain in total darkness. I have ridden this coaster countless times, but in complete blackness it is actually terrifying!

The night ended with an adorable villainous farewell from the Wicked Stepmother, Stepsisters, and Captain Hook half taunting the crowd from above as guests exited.

Did you get to attend the Villains After Hours party at Magic Kingdom? What did you think?
