An Ode to Jellyrolls

This post was written in 2019, and this location has been closed for over a year. While I hope one day it re-opens, I am publishing this post from the archives as a way to remember some of the best nights I’ve had on Disney property. If you know…you know!

If you know me IRL, you know I absolutely love Jellyrolls! This dueling piano bar located at Disney’s Boardwalk is SO FUN (even on rainy weeknights when the place is dead)! If you’re planning a trip to Disney World, it’s worth it to set aside a night away from the kiddos to escape to this 21 and up oasis in the heart of Disney. Whether you’re imbibing or stone-cold sober, I promise you’ll be joining in the audience sing-alongs!

The premise is like most of the trendy dueling piano bars that have opened in the last few years: the crowd writes down random requests, gives them to the pianists, tips if they want their request to stand out, and then the players try to perform it…no matter how strange of a request it might be! It never ceases to amaze me that these performers seem to know every, single song! Their ability to translate every genre of song is uncanny, sometimes hilarious, and always fun. A giant, angled mirror behind the stage lets you watch the pianists in action, in case you doubted how talented the really are. The lights, general ambiance, and showmanship of the players really lend to a memorable experience.

Jellyrolls is open till 2 a.m. nightly, and the cover charge is $20 per person. Yes, it’s steep, but consider that you are paying to watch a Disney-caliber concert and not just paying a cover charge to get into a bar. You must be 21 and up to enter.
