Off-Property Disney Hotel: Delta Hotel by Marriott at Lake Buena Vista
Thanks for inviting me to stay at the Delta Hotel by Marriott at Lake Buena Vista!
I love a Disney hotel as much as the next person, but sometimes you want something with more flexibility and convenience. I was recently invited to stay at the Delta Hotel by Marriott in Lake Buena Vista to celebrate the new partnership with Soapbox, and I want to share with you the perks of staying off property at Walt Disney World. I’ve stayed at a dozen or so properties near Disney World and also on Disney property, and this hotel might be just what you need for your next getaway!

The Perks of Staying Off Property
Parking. When I pulled into the hotel, I knew I was going to love it. Sometimes those larger resorts require you to park your car a mile from your room or you can’t self-park. I was thrilled to see that there was just one parking lot that was very close to the hotel’s entrance. I didn’t have to worry about carting my luggage far away. It made me think this is the best place for me to stay when I want a girls’ night, date night at Disney with my husband, or a quick “staycation” when we head to Orlando with my family.

Busy but not too busy. I appreciated the size of the hotel as it has 237 rooms. This meant I wasn’t fighting for a parking space when I returned to my room like at other resorts, and I didn’t have to wait a long time to catch the elevator. I checked in and was inside my cozy room in minutes. That is a big perk of this hotel. It’s large enough to have comfortable amenities, but it is small enough to have a personal touch without a lot of fuss.
Price. When I checked booking rates today, they were a fraction of what staying at a Disney property would be right now. In fact, I’m about to book another weekend stay here for our next trip to EPCOT to enjoy Flower & Garden Festival.
More space. I felt like our hotel room was larger than my value resort rooms at Disney that I’ve stayed in. I enjoyed the comfy bed and the view too.

Close to other attractions in Orlando. Sometimes when you stay in the Disney “bubble,” it can feel far from other Orlando things to do. This hotel is SO close to being back on the interstate to take you wherever you want to go.

Is this hotel for you?
If you want a quick trip without a lot of hassle, this hotel is what you’re looking for. I liked how it was walking distance to Disney Springs which will make those late nights out way more convenient. While I probably wouldn’t walk to Disney Springs (it is totally safe, but I admit I’m kind of lazy), it is a super cheap Uber or Lyft ride.

If you are traveling with children, there is a separate kids area next to the pool with a splash pad. There is also a children’s area inside the hotel with video games.

The bar is very nice, and there are awesome food options. Enjoy breakfast buffet style or order flatbreads and craft beer from D Flats. I spent two evenings enjoying the bar and chatting with the bartenders. Everyone was so friendly, and I was able to enjoy a few Florida beers.

Since this is a good neighbor hotel, you can count on the free scheduled transportation to and from the Ticket and Transportation Center. If I stay here again (which I hope to do so!), I probably would Uber to the parks or take my car since I get free parking with my annual Disney pass. There is nothing wrong with the shuttles, I just like to be in “control” of when I come and go.

There’s also free wifi (which is important since I work on the go!) and a gym so you can stay on the hotel property.

I can’t say enough good things about our stay at this property. I reached out to a friend who recently stayed here, and she claimed she always stays here when she comes to Orlando. It’s a quick, clean, and friendly place to relax in between long days and late nights in Orlando.
