Fair at Fenway South

The fair is currently in town (at the Red Sox Spring Training facility!), and it was a must do for us. I’m saving the funny pictures for Thursday (Humor Click Chicks Challenge), so today I wanted to share my little one’s love for fuzzy animals.

We have dogs that he loves to snuggle up with and “pet,” so I was excited to take him to the petting zoo at the fair. I hadn’t been to a zoo in many years so I didn’t know what to expect. They had goats, cows, llamas, and a bison. The goats went NUTS for the food and didn’t mind if a toddler tugged their fur.

It was a warm yet fun day, and I think my son is going to be a big animal lover.

What have you been up to lately?

Earlier this week I shared a few photos from our adventure at the fair. We stopped in a petting zoo with our kiddo, and we had a great time. After the petting zoo, we went to an area where we could feed birds. We also watched The Banana Derby. I had never heard of a Banana Derby before, but once I discovered that it involved monkeys riding dogs I was in.

Yes. Monkeys riding dogs. In a race. This sounds like good old-fashioned redneck fair fun, eh? So, for my photos for Click Chicks Humor Week… here you go!

And, yes, I made sure we were there thirty minutes ahead of showtime to ensure that I was in the front row. I had never been so excited to see something so silly before. It was a short “race,” and the performers did well. I can’t tell you who won, but I do remember that they said the animals were rescued. I’m sure there’s some kind of animal rights issue here, but they did promise that the animals were well-treated and were adopted.Other photos from our day at the fair:

Our day at the fair was a success. Even though the weather in Florida is still unbearably hot for an afternoon out, it was a nice day.
