Explore the Sandy Shores of Panama City Beach
My son and I were recently invited to hit the road and travel north to Panama City Beach. As part of our trip, we met up with other travel mom bloggers and their children. It was a memorable vacation, and I want to share EVERYTHING you need to know to plan your trip to Panama City Beach! As a native Floridian, it was an awesome experience to visit a new beach and try their best restaurants and attractions. I have to admit, their sandy shores and gorgeous water rivals the beaches I’m used to! Follow along with this Florida travel series, and get ready to discover everything that Panama City Beach has to offer.
Famous for its powdery white sand beaches and brilliant blue-green waters, Panama City Beach really is a beautiful place to relax and get a little closer to nature. You can easily get away from the hustle and bustle of the main shopping area and any events the city might be hosting, and explore a wilder side of Northwest Florida.

There are two protected nature preserves, plenty of hiking trails and lots of fishing piers. The waters of the Gulf are clear and calm, and the 27 miles of beach are great for swimming, snorkeling, and collecting shells.

If you’re the type of person who likes more of an active vacation, don’t worry: there are plenty of water sports to try, too. From jet-skiing to parasailing to boating, you’ll get to escape the daily grind in one way or another!

If seafood’s your thing, you’ll be in heaven here, with loads of waterfront restaurants serving up fresh, local seafood to choose from. Panama City Beach is also known as the “Wreck Capital of the South” for the numerous historic wrecks that have happened just offshore. It’s those very wrecks and artificial reefs that scuba divers love to explore.

Forget haunted houses this Halloween; instead, dive the shipwrecks of Panama City Beach! Or, just stay on dry land and take in the breathtaking sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico any day of the year.

We stayed at the Edgewater Hotel which was located right on the sandy beaches of Panama City. Pull up a chair, and catch up with the Ultimate Guide to Panama City Beach. Read about our hotel, Wonderworks, and more.
